Additional car parking for Tweed Valley Hospital

Patients, visitors and staff at Tweed Valley Hospital will soon benefit from an additional 130 free car parks, along with upgrades to existing parking areas, boosting capacity to more than 1,300 spaces across the hospital campus.

The $723.3 million Tweed Valley Hospital opened to patients in May 2024 and has transformed the delivery of health for the region with more than 5,000 locals no longer having to travel outside the region for life-saving medical treatments.

The upgrades will maximise available space across the campus and improve the efficiency of existing parking areas across the campus. The additional car parks and enhancements will be delivered following an operational review into the transport and traffic arrangements at the new hospital.

The new car parking will complement the more than 1,200 existing car parking spaces delivered as part of the Tweed Valley Hospital Development, including a multi-storey car park.

Work to deliver the improvements is expected to begin in the coming months and will be carried out in stages to minimise disruption. The project is expected to be completed before the end of 2025.

The project is being funded as part of the Tweed Valley Hospital Redevelopment and is being delivered by Northern NSW Local Health District, in partnership with Health Infrastructure.

Staff and the community will continue to be updated as work progresses.
