Tumut Hospital installs on-site accommodation for healthcare workers

Five new accommodation units have been installed at the Tumut Hospital, providing health workers safe and comfortable accommodation close to work.

The key worker accommodation is a vital step in attracting healthcare staff to the region, following the completion of the new Tumut Hospital late last year.

The five modular, one-bedroom units will provide modern and convenient accommodation to recruit and retain health workers to the region.

Our partners at Murrumbidgee Local Health District will use the new accommodation for permanent recruits who need to establish themselves in the community, as well as healthcare workers coming in on a temporary basis.

The accommodation units are equipped with all the necessities including kitchenettes, comfortable living areas, and ensuite bathrooms. They are located on the hospital grounds, and have been designed with safety, security, liveability, and comfort in mind.

The recent redevelopment of Tumut Hospital and installation of key worker accommodation is part of the NSW Government’s commitment towards ensuring local communities can access healthcare closer to home.
